about this space
who is martin?
i believe looking your best helps you in all walks of life. i'm a model, content creator (@martinruzi) and full-time student and i made all this because i want to help make people feel good in their own skin. through my experiences collaborating with global brands and working at the czech republic's biggest skincare company, i've learned a lot about what goes into cosmetics and how they can be used to make you your best self. i'm talking skincare routines, lymphatic drainage, skin types, glass skin trends, ingredients and the science of how cosmetics work. this website and product are the result of weeks of research, hours of sitting in skincare workshops and a variety of social media collabs cosmetics firms of all price points.
i've used this knowledge as a model so so much. as someone who used to have a lot of skin problems, it's been such a blessing to be able to maintain good skin and use it to market myself in magazines, in the news, brand deals etc. i put all this knowledge in a handbook that i am sharing with you here. i hope you enjoy it and i hope it can help you become more informed about skincare :)
why should i care about my skin?
your skin is one of the most important deciding factors of not only how you look, but how you feel. taking care of it isn’t about chasing perfection, it’s about being healthy and feeling comfortable with yourself. we’ve all had those mornings where a breakout shows up before something important or your skin feels tired after a long week. a simple skincare routine is like a small act of kindness you give yourself every day, keeping your skin steady through whatever life throws at it.
your skin is with you for your whole life, so the way you treat it now matters. little habits add up, and starting early means your skin will thank you years from now. skincare doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive — it’s just about giving your skin what it needs so you feel good in it. when you know your skin is healthy and cared for, you carry yourself differently.
what do i get in the model off-duty skincare handbook?
the handbook provides densely-packed, no-nonsense information on:
- skin types (dry skin, oily skin, combination skin etc.) and their characteristics
- framework of a six-step skincare routine

- serums as a targeted treatment with detailed explanation of ingredients
- moisturiser types and functions (occlusives, emollients etc.)
- types of SPF, how it works and how they protect from sunlight
- skincare buzzword definitions companies like to sell you
- details of my skincare routine and products that have worked for me
- bibliography of sources for your further reading and development in skincare
who is the handbook for?
the handbook is for anyone wanting to learn about what goes into a successful skincare routine, including product types, ingredients and some of the science behind cosmetics. the information is general and not targeted at a specific audience–everyone can learn something from it!

my non-sponsored skincare routine
(i have combination skin)

first step: cleanser
for one of the most important steps, i am currently using the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser. in the past, i have also loved using Anua Heartleaf Pore Control Cleansing Oil as part of a double cleansing routine.

second step: exfoliation
for exfoliation, i use the Paula's Choice 2% BHA Exfoliator once every few days. it caused some purging at first but the pore-cleansing benefits became visible not only to me but my friends soon after.

third step: serum
i use a variety of serums depending on my skin needs. the two i reach for the most right now are the Caudalie Vinoperfect Serum and the Dr. Althea 345 Relief Cream.

fourth step: moisturiser and spf
these last two steps are my holy grail products – Weleda Skin Food and the Skin1004 Hyalu-cica Water-fit Sun Serum. these products have been in my routine for years :)
